Frequently Asked Questions

Are dogs officially allowed on patios in Kelowna?
Unfortunately, dogs are not officially allowed on patios in Kelowna, nor in British Columbia as a whole. Food health & safety regulations are set by provincial authorities, and British Columbia hasn't followed the decisions of Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia in explicitly legalizing dog-friendly patios.
How can dog owners bring their pets to patios with them in Kelowna?
While dogs aren't officially allowed on patios in Kelowna, restaurant owners will often be flexible in bending the rules. With that being said, it's best to assume that restaurants won't always allow your dog seated with you at the table. Instead, be prepared to tie your dog onto fence posts along the perimeter of the restaurant during the course of your meal.
What pup supplies should I bring when bringing my dog to patios?
To stay prepared, it's a good idea to bring a water bowl, extra kibble, treats, possibly a blanket, and waste bags. That is in addition to your pup's leash & collar.
Is the restaurant information on this page accurate?
While we've done our best to gather accurate information, it's not perfect and restaurant policies are constantly changing. For that reason, it's recommended that you call ahead to your restaurants of choice to confirm that dogs are allowed on their patios.
